Trying to arrive at a fair price to charge for (selective)* exterior painting for a small commercial property. Material being supplied by owners.

*Not the entire outside of buildings, but only such areas as stairs ,columns ,patios etc.

Location: upstate N.Y.

When putting together the quote, list all work to be performed. Treat each item that you have to paint as an individual. Estimate how long it will take to do prep work, primer and number of finished coats.

Set your price on a days work at what you want to make per day. The most time will be spent prepping if there is a lot of flaking. Areas that have to be brushed will take longer then a roller.

It is also relative to how bad you want the job.

Good luck
