My ex is ordered to pay child support until my son is 19. My son, who will be 18 in July and a full time college student this fall, has decided he wants to "move out". I am wondering what will happen to my child support. I will still be paying cell phone, medical insurance, school expenses (that aren't covered by financial aid and loans)... etc. This child support is a big part of my income. I also have a 21 year old daughter (student as well) and get nothing for her.

P.S. My son has been employed less than 2 months, is getting a huge attitude and has NO idea what supporting himself is.

Help!

What does the child support order say, if it says 19 and lives at home, if he moves out, it ends, if it says 19 lives at home or goes to college it will continue,

You will have to read what your custody order says.

It just says, "Payments shall continue until further order of the court"...
I guess that's good... he can't just stop paying.

Thank you!

Correct. But if I were Your ex (and if I didn't know you will be continuing to support your son) I would consider asking the court to modify the order.
