I used L'Oreal Healthy Look temporary color "Iced Chocolate", My hair was previously lightened with L'Oreal True Brunettes. It was time to do the roots, but ready to go back to my natural color (As close as possible), I chose a temp color just in case I didn't like it. OMG the growth from my scalp out about 3 inches is a dark reddish brown, and the length quite long is very dark, almost black. What do I do, I was thinking about going all black, but I'm going to be 44 years old and don't want to look so fake... HELP ME PLEASE

Think of the shaft of your hair like a sponge, the more lightening and chemicals that the hair is exposed to damages the shaft of the hair creating more holes. The more damaged the hair the more area there is available for any color, temporary, semi, or permanent to grab onto. The result is the more damaged areas look darker than the less damaged areas.
I've read a couple of tips about stripping the color, but I've never tried those and wouldn't want to recommend them, others with more experience with them may.
My suggestion would be to have a professional stylist with plenty of coloring experience under their belt have a look at it.
Some good conditioning treatments and perhaps a good trim of the damaged hair.
It's hair it will grow.
