Help, I have a Nephew currently living with a maternal uncle in Fla. They are moving (job related ) to Texas and the Nephew wants to move back to Maryland where his parents and siblings are to finish his senior year of high school. He will be 17 this July and would like to move in with an adult sister and her husband (they are in their late 20's, both professionals and want him to live with them) and his parents are not likely to cooperate. They are white trash and its an unhealthy environment for him (the kicked him to the curb 2 years ago) to go back to.
Can he apply to be emancipated, and if so are his chances good?

Emancipation? Unless he has a full time job... his OWN place... and proven ability to live on his own.. without the support or help from others... essentially zilch.

How did the uncle get custody? Maybe he can transfer custody
