I would like to get my resposable 16 year old a charge card to begin building her credit. And to use it in emergency situations. I can not find a company that offers under age cards with co-signing parents. Any ideas?

I don't know of any that do either, since a 16 yr old can't legally sign a contract.

16-year olds can't sign contracts, So credit card companies won't issue them their own card, even if you co-sign. For emergency purposes you can get an additional card in her name on your account. It won't help establish her credit but she can use it in an emergency. To help establish a credit history she could set up her own checking and savings accounts at the bank.

You have to be 18, to sign for yourself. So the parent will have to get the card and have the child as a signer on the card.
