What can you do.. make that appearance... because as long as you have that warrant.. you aren't getting a drivers license in TN or anyplace else...

Apparently you thought you could ignore the ticket or that it wouldn't follow you.

20 years ago that was true... hasn't been for a while.

Basically... you are screwed until you deal with the warrant.

You really have no choice,
1. I will assume this is a valid ticket and you were in California at some point and time.
2. I will assume for what ever reason you did not pay for the ticket or appear in court.

Now you have a warrant and very likely your license there was suspended or revoked.

So you have to clear this up this issue before you can get a drivers license in your state.

So you only have two choices ** and maybe just one.

First you can try to hire an attorney in California to settle the ticket for you. Or you take a bus or get a ride to California and take care of it.

Who paid for the trip from California to Tennessee? Ask that person for money for the return trip.

You are, of course, on the State Registry so you can't get a Drivers License anywhere. If you get stopped you can be arrested - whether you'll be sent back to California on a warrant depends on whether any Police Officers in TN feel like visiting California.

You don't necessarily have to travel back to CA. You can find out what court this is in in CA and contact them to see how you can take care of this ticket. It's possible you may just be able to send them a money order to satisfy this.
