The water stopped working all of a sudden! The breaker was fine and the gage is at zero. Help!

Problem could be faulty pressure switch, faulty pump or faulty wiring.

First, if you haven't done so already, reset the breaker. Sometimes it can be hard to tell that a breaker has tripped by looking at it. Particuraly a double breaker. One leg may have tripped and you not be able to see it.

Next remove the pressure switch cover and see if the points of the switch are closed. If points are not closed, manually force them closed with an insulated tool. Watch the pressure gauge for a few minutes to see if pump is running which will be indicated by an increase in pressure (assuming an submergable pump).

If no indication of pump actually running check for voltage at switch. Meter should show 240 volts between the two input wires. With switch points closed meter should show 240 volts between wires to pump.

If pump begins to run when the points are manually closed the water input port of the switch is clogged with debrie and rust. Turn off breaker, disconnect electric connections, remove pump switch and clean input port. If switch does not function after cleaning, replace it.

If pump does not run with voltage going to and leaving the switch the problem is either a defective pump or defective wiring between switch and pump. Check for voltage at well head. If you have proper voltage at well head the problem is probably a defective pump.
