What does Qualitative mean when tested positive for Amphetamine?
Identified by class of drug only, a positive on the Amphetamine panel of an immunoassay. This step can only identify drugs by class. Often referred to as a presumptive positive. Amphetamines are also the most common false positive in the initial screening process.
The sample should now be subjected to confirmatory testing which could identify both the specific drug and the quantity in sample. Or it could be that the more sensitive test would not confirm the existence of amphetamine.

I am prescribed adderall by my doctor (2) 20mg mg per day. My drug test always read detected tlc qualitive. (test not given by my doctor)Does that mean I am taking prescribed amount? This week I have taken 3 a day more than I am prescribed and will be given a urine drug test. My question is will it show I have been taking more or just positive test for amphetamine... same as before TLC qualitive? Thank you!

The term "qualitative" discloses that the test is an immunoassay that can detect only presence or absence (positive or negative) of a specific class of drug... in this case amphetamine.
Only a test that provides "quantitative" results can measure the amount of drug present. That is a more advanced test.
The test should read exactly the same as that is a base limitation of that type of test.
