I have a goldline chlorine generator on my pool. Last summer I had to replace the cell on the unit. It finished the season working fine. When I started the unit up last week, there was no reading for salt content and the unit would not generate chlorine. I called the company that installed the pool and they recommended cleaning the cell. The cell looked clean. I added acid for about ten minutes, I did not see any gassing but the acid was discolored slightly when I emptied the cell. I rinsed and re-installed the cell. Still no salt reading. I turned the unit on and it seemed to be generating chlorine, the voltages were what they should have been. But, still no salt reading. In about a minute the generating light went out and the check salt light came on. I checked the salt at 2450 ppm and added about a half bag of salt. Let it sit overnight. Same results today. Where do I go from here?
