I have had this trimmer for at least 7 or 8 yrs,It has always started and worked great,It usually starts on the 2nd or 3rd pull after sitting all winter. Recently I tried starting It and had this problem, after starting on full choke and going to half choke it runs and idles perfectly, but when switched to run It quits instantly, It will restart every time on full or half choke but dies when switched to run. I have already used it several times this year, and use fresh gas always,I also use stabil when storing. The number on the front cover is Featherlite SST 25 HO. I'm hoping someone has had this problem and I can fix this little trimmer because I have always liked to use it for its lite weight and ease of starting.

I had the same problem and could not find a small engine repair shop open on Saturday afternoon when I wanted to use my weedeater. I am not an engine repair person, but a problem solver by profession none-the-less!

Try this. There is an adjustment screw at the choke setting just in front of the primer bulb. Take a small screwdriver and run the screw all the way in. Then back it off a 1/4 to 1/2 a turn. You might have to experiment with this a bit.

I did this and my unit runs like a chanp!

Hi,
WeedEater is known for specifying a Dutch twill screen as the inlet screen in the carb. Replace the inlet screen.
Peace,
