View Full Version : Why am I so miserable?

I'm absolutely miserable and I don't know why. I have lots of friends, I play sports, and I'm graduating middle school this year. I'm not unpopular, but not popular either. People call me pretty, but I honestly have no idea whether I am or not. But I'm always down on myself all the time and it feels like everyone else has it easier than me. The more popular girls in school get all the guys I want, and I'm always their second choice (if that)... and my family and I don't get along well at all. The other day my mom asked me whether I even wanted to be part of the family anymore, then said she didn't want to see me again until the next day. My younger sister and I used to get along great but now we're not nearly as close as we used to be. I'm grateful for what I have, and I know I have a lot more than other people, but I just can't seem to turn my attitude around. I'm afraid that my miserable attitude will ruin my friendships, and ruin any chances I have with the guys I like.

Probably miserable because life is just to easy for you, you don't have any challenges.
Yes, your miserable attitude will ruin your chances of just about anything. Suggest you do some volunteer work in a hospital, in a soup kitchen to find out just how miserable life can be for unfortunate people. That may turn your attitude around.

I think that you should spend more time with your friends and try to talk to your mom and sister more:) And just keep smiling because you never know who is falling in love with it! :)

Thanks for that insight, teensport. That was good advice.

Evryone is like this. I was. Some call depression. I went through it and still am. There really is know way to fix it. Just think. Someone has it worse than you. At night, think about what you do have. Being a teenager is rough and everyone is like this. It is normal. Its called being a teenager.

I don't think depression and suicidal thoughts and threats - which you have posted - are "normal."

Pardon me? You said you never said it - you did. I posted where (and how) you said it. Here's the problem - this is not the first time you've said something, contradicted yourself, turned it into, "Well, I may have said that but ..."
For that matter here's one where you contradict yourself in the very same thread: https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/teens/guy-likes-me-boobs-665756.html
Own up to what you post. It is NOT unusual for people trying to help you, answer your questions, to learn more about you from other threads.
