I am a 38yr old mom of a 2yr old daughter which took 2 1/2 yrs to conceive, I am now going on 2 yrs for #2 and having no luck! I have irregular periods but the past 4 months they have been averaging between 21-24 days. I got my period on April 23, 2012 and it only lasted 4 days where it usually last 6 days, had intercourse on April 28th & May 5th. Started checking my basal temps and 1 week later was in the 95 range and now for the past 8 days it is in the 96 range, my cervix as well has been high and somewhat soft for the past 14 days. Should have gotton my period on May 19th. I tested for pregnancy on the 22nd and 23rd of course negative. Should I give up at this point on thinking pregnant or should I try taking another test. I have had some mild pregnancy symptons within the first week or so and now my breasts are very sore. Thank you, any advice would greatly be appreciated!

I would go to the doctors and get a blood test or try an ultrasound scan if you don't like needles, home pregnancy tests are tricky and sometimes innacurate and have a higher risk of being wrong depending on the brand, if you want to try again I'd get something like clearblue or a well known brand if you haven't been using it already. Good Luck!
