Many of you know me, and know my son. He's 13, in grade 7, has ADHD, and he's struggling in a few classes. He's also missed a lot of school this year. We're working on that.
Well, in order to help him out, we've decided that he will need to take English and Social Studies this summer. At first I was thinking about summer school, but there really aren't any programs available where we live for kids his age. Not unless I go to Sylvan, which charges $60/hr, more than my husband and I make combined. :(
I looked into correspondence courses. They're more reasonable than Sylvan, but still costly for a family on our budget. Around $350 per course, which would equal to $700 for the two courses he needs. That's a lot of money!
Does anyone have any other suggestions? He needs this help. I don't want him lagging even further behind when he goes to grade 8. But, I don't know if he'll be able to complete the correspondence courses without a lot of pushing on my part, and a lot of fights.
