Im a 15 year old virgin and I have an itchy cluster of bumps in both sides of my vagina lips(labia?) Please how did I get this what is it and what can I do. I know it cannot possibly be an STD or STI because once again I am a virgin but I am worried and I don't want doctors probing and peering inside me.

Well, in order to determine what this is, a doctor is going to have to look at it, and then prescribe the correct med for it. Maybe find a female doctor for this -- would that be more comfortable?

You really have no choice other than going to doctor. No one on the internet can give you an accurate diagnosis. We can only guess, and there are literally hundreds of possibilities. That won't help you, you need a diagnosis, and a treatment. Only a doctor can give you that.

I know it's embarrassing, but I can assure you that it's not as bad as you think it is. For one, the doctor is only looking at you from a medical perspective. Trust me, he/she sees millions of patients a day. Okay, not millions, but a lot! ;)

It will be quick, and doctors are professionals, you won't be made to feel uncomfortable about any aspect of this.

Like WG suggested, maybe a female doctor would be better for you. I myself prefer a male doctor. I figure that a male doctor is more gentle than a woman, because he doesn't know what being female feels like, so he's extra careful. ;)

Either way, you need to get this checked. Tell your mom, and she'll book the appointment. She can even stay in the room with you if that's what you want.

Don't play around with your reproductive health, it's not something you should ignore. It could be something as simple as a rash, or an allergic reaction, but it could be something serious. The sooner you find out what's going on, the better.

Thank you guys for the advice. It is much appreciated.

Please let us know how it goes. I hope that everything is okay, and I wish you the best of luck. This is something every woman has to go through, that first dreaded visit to the Gynecologist, or the first appointment with the family doctor where you have to drop your pants. We play it around in our heads to the point where we're terrified, only to find out that it's really not that big of a deal.

This is something you'll have to do all your life, because you're female. Women have to have a pap smear every year if they want to be healthy. You're at that age where this won't be long from now, even if you decide to remain a virgin until you're married.

Don't worry about it too much, okay? It's a breeze, really it is. The first time is the worst, and that's only because we psych ourselves up over it.

I bet you that after the appointment, you'll wonder why you were so worried. Come back and tell me if I was right, okay? :)
