Today at my clinic app my doc shook my baby to get her to get up for a ctg scan. Will this harm her? However she.didn't wake up.

I was also thinking about induction so I wouldn't have to deal with stress of wondering if she's OK. Since then she's not moving the same. They ran me on the machine for about 2hrs. Doing an NST. He gave me ice to eat. Then he was shaking up my tummy. She moved for a bit but never really woke up. I need advise on this.

These are all questions for your own medical practitioner.

Thx curlyben. However in trinidad they don't do their jobs. It's different from the USA. I had my first son at Princeton med. Now I'm in the caribbean. The docs here at our hospitals are not too concern about patients. In other words 90% of them do not care because it's free. However I prayed on my tummy and not too long after she started moving up a storm. Lol. Thank God for his mercies. I will get through this safe. Thx for taking the time to respond.

As you know, your doctor was just trying to wake her up a bit so that he could see a good flluctuation in her heartbeat. We call those accelerations, and they typically don't happen when the baby is sleeping. Don't worry, it won't hurt your baby.

I was also thinking about induction so i wouldn't have to deal with stress of wondering if she's ok. At 37 weeks your doctor will only do a medical induction if you or the baby are having health issues. A doctor will not induce just because mom is stressed. If she wasn't okay your doctor would have sent you on to the hospital.

As long as she is having her wakeful periods and her sleepy times all should be well. NSTs are done for a number of reasons and I'm not going to speculate why your doctor is doing them on you because I don't want to concern you unnecessarily if I'm wrong.

It sounds as though you have a very good and thorough doctor. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask him or his nurse to explain everything to you in terms you will understand.
