OK so I started to get this really bad pain around my cervix area today, I have an IUD up there for 2 years and I thought it might be the IUD causing the pain I also know I have a cyst on my cervix but a like 5 months ago the doctor said it would go away.

So I decided to check for the strings of my IUD, when I tired to find them I touched the cyst and I think that is what's hurting, so should I be really worried? I'm going to see if I can get to a doctor asap tomorrow because I don't thinks its right, it hurts so much I can't stand up properly. Thanks for the help. And please don't just read my question say something

It appears you might need a colposcopy procedure performed to further examine the cervical cyst; it is similar to having a pap smear. Since the Cyst is causing pain and discomfort the doctor may remove the cyst which of course will be a great relief to you. If you have had issue with cervical infections this might be a cause of a cyst developing. Cervical cyst are often associated with pregnancy and menopause as well. Cervical cyst are usually benign and common during childbearing years. Take care.

Cyst on Cervix Symptoms
Many cervical cysts will not create any discomfort or symptoms, but some can grow enough in size, making them noticeable and uncomfortable.

Other symptoms can include:

•Irregular bleeding
•Pain during intercourse
•Pelvic pain
•Vaginal discharge.
Cervical Cyst Removal and Treatment
If cervical cysts become symptomatic, a medical professional can perform a colposcopy for further management. This procedure is similar to a Pap smear, but the doctor uses a microscope to magnify the cervix. If a cervical cyst appears to be abnormal during the colposcopy, your doctor may perform a biopsy to see if the cervical cyst is benign or malignant. Cysts causing pain or discomfort will most likely also call for cervical cyst removal.
