First of all, I've dealt with kidney problems for a few years now (I have Randall's Plaques which basically means my kidneys are constantly making kidney stones and it is incurable). Yesterday, after only being sick 2 days, I was diagnosed with definite pneumonia- the doctor prescribed me Prednizone, Azithromycin, and an inhaler. Tonight, I started having really awful kidney and stomach pain and upon researching Prednizone on the internet I saw that it is dangerous to take if you have a history of kidney problems. My doctor told me, however, that it is the most important part of my healing process because my immune system is weak as it is.. Do I need to be hospitalized? What can I do?

Kidney pain has nothing to do with pneumonia, but the prednisone does. I think you should seek a second opinion regarding your treatment. And yes, if you are having extreme kidney pain, I would seek professional help asap.
