I bought the 220V remote a month ago from Woodcraft US only after reading on the reviews that other people used it in Italy and Australia.
In my country (Cyprus) we have 240V (UK standards) and of-course the US socket that is on the unit could not be altered, so I cut the wire in half and use one end to fit a UK plug and the US plug replaced the one I had on my DC so that will plug into the remote US socket. Everything was connected with soldering iron and isolated each color separately.
When everything plugged in the DC run smoothly but I had a problem.
The problem I encounter is that the remote key will switch off the DC but it will not turn it on.
Any advice will be appreciated thanks.

Could you identify the actual tool you have?

As you can see here:

Power Tools, Air Power Tools, Cordless Power Tools at Woodcraft.com (http://www.woodcraft.com/Category/1001045/Power-Tools.aspx)

Woodcraft offers many items.

It's like this one
Buy 110V Remote at Woodcraft (http://www.woodcraft.com/product/2005117/8394/110v-remote.aspx)
Only that is 220V up to 3HP DC

Also my DC is the AXMINSTER ADE2200 EXTRACTOR 240V 1100W
Thanks

Since the remote fob turns on the remote control off, what turned it on?

Sounds like you have either a defective fob and/or remote control.

Best to contact the manufacturer for advice or warranty information.

Initially it was turned on from the DC switch which It looks to me that this might be a magnetic switch maybe incompatible with the remote and I am looking for a way around the problem.
