There was a question someone asked on 26 April 2012 about her 6 year old son and his
My son has been acting the same. He has been on Tofranil (a prescription drug that is licensed to treat depression in adults and bedwetting in children) purely for his bedwetting, for almost 8 months now. I thought this may have something to do with his horrid mood swings and irratic behaviour. So 3 nights ago my husband and I decided to take him off his 10mg per night dose, it might be too soon to tell if this is the cause but the bedwetting is worse than ever.
His moods, he refuses to do things and acts stupid saying things like "what's :clean my room?" - " I don't understand" and then stands in defiance and screams at me, he has violent fits of rage and a temper that makes me want to smack his bottom so hard! But I restrain, the more angry I get the worse his reaction. He wakes up in a bad mood every morning and fights with me, stands in the kitchen and refuses to eat breakfast. 2 minutes later he is 100% lovable and sweet.
The one night he screamed for almost 1 hour in his room, screamed from the windows like he was being murdered. I got in my car and left. I didn't know what to do, when I came back I told him that the police came to fetch me because they thought that I was abusing him, he packed his bag and said he'd gowith me next time. Last night he screamed and carried on because I woke him up for a wee and he hit his arm in temper against the door which started the screaming fit... I gave him his bag and said he must pack it and that they were coming to fetch him... it stopped him from crying and screaming and allowed me to get ready without any further complications... I just don't know what to do :(
Is this a phase, am I handling this wrong, is this the medication? What?
I cannot afford to have him checked as I have been unemployed for over 6 months and cannot find employment, my husband just barely makes ends meet... what can I do..?
