Most commonly the wireless switch is triggered by mistake, make sure the wireless isn't turned off, this might be a button around or along side the laptop, or it might be a function key. Function keys are the alternative blue-purpleish keys on your keyboard accessed by pressing the "Fn" key.

If that doesn't work, then I would recommend reinstalling/repairing the wireless drivers. The folkes at ACER/Emachine have been so kind to install a recovery console where you can get the driver from.

Once the machine is on, click Start - All Programs - eMachines - eRecovery
On the left pannel, select Recovery then Reinstall Drivers/Applications. There you will find the wireless drivers. Reinstall or repair it. It should work.

If all els fails, you can reload the machine from that same console.
ERecovery - Recover (On Left Pannel), then Recover system to default.
***YOU WILL LOOSE ALL YOUR FILES if you follow this last step so only do this if you have tried everything els.

Hope this helps
