Hi! My name is Megan, and I am a freshman at my school. I really want to try out for cheerleading next year, but my jumps are horrible! :'( Can someone please help me? I need some tips on how to jump higher, and how to improve overall! I would really appreciate it! Thank you! :)

Brunette, you might want to consider including power jumping exercise routines known as plyometrics into your workout sessions to help build up proper body mechanics, form and stamina. Here, try these sites for more info and some exercises you might like to practice:

Best wishes and have fun.. you'll do well! ;) 8)

Sure, brunette, anytime, I am glad to have help. Power jumping exercises and stretching are some of most important exercised preparations for building power and endurance. In fact, these are the 2 things I love doing the most everyday! Like anything else, you'll get better at it. 'Cause you already have a good attitude. Now it's just a matter of applying and adding these exercises to your cheerleading work-outs. Do the wave! You go brunette! ;D 8)

Once again, thanks so much for the help. I've already tried doing those exercises, and I'm starting to get more bounce off my round-offs. I've started to do work-outs like tae-bo too, and those have helped me with my flexibility. So with the combonation of your wonderful help, and my semi-inreased flexibility, maybe my jumps will get better after all! Thanks again for your help! You are so incredebly supportive! ;D

Try steching for about ten minuets every day. Use a trampline and strethen your stomach musels. I found this site to be very helpful for improving jusmps:
Toe Touch Drills (http://cheerleading.about.com/od/learningaboutjumps/a/toetouch_drills.htm)
Hope this helped :)
