My Case 446 tractor has a 16 HP Onan Engine which recently began to blow oil into the air filter housing and smoke/oil from exhast. Also looses compression and mowing deck will not run at full speed, slowing down when cutting.
What Could be causing this?
Please Help I need to get this tractor running again!!
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Check your oil level and smell it for fuel, It could be leaking past the carb and pushing the oil/gas mix into the air filter. If that is not the case you are losing crankcase vacum and have a bad gasket (head gasket, sump gasket) or the breather is defective.

It could also be very tired and rings are worn out, although this is a gradual process and usually is not sudden.

The likley reason you loose power is the oil in the air filter, once that is solved you should be OK.

Don
