I have been anemic for years having 3 children and heavy periods . I am on 325 mg of ferrous sulfate . In jan 2012 my lab work was good but my iron is always a little low. Now in may my rbc is 4.03 hgb 11.3 hct 34.2 total iron 27 and the rdw is 15.8. the rdw concerned me this is the first time it has been high what does this mean ?
