Rich old lady has written 1 of her 8 children out of her will. Can the one written out do anything about after the mother dies? The child (now 55) has done nothing wrong and tries to communicate but the mother is angry over trivial things and wrote her out. She has written others out and then put them back in.

Assuming the rich old lady is in control of her mental faculties when she writes the will, no, the disinherited child would have no legal recourse.

As long as it is done by the state law where she lives, yes she can, or give them little, in some areas they may have to leave them one dollar, or 100 dollars, but in general, yes they can basically leave them nothing.

She can do whatever she want with her money as long as she is competent, of sound mind. Maybe staying clear and minding your Ps and Qs will give her time to write you back in like she has done for others. Some cranky older folks tell their kids they are out of the will but never actually have the will changed. Just messin with your head to get her own way.
