So I I've gained about ten pounds in two months I'm 5'4 and I weigh 147 pounds and I feel really self conscious about how I look. My husband and I been together for two years and he told me I should start doing some butt lift exercise and I felt horrible I wanted to cry. Should I feel like this or is it just me taking it the wrong way?

Do you feel that you need to do some exercising? You mentioned that you put on a bit of weight and that you feel really self-conscious. If that is the case, then make a plan of how you are going to change things.

It's an odd thing when someone we love makes a comment about something we are already aware of. On one hand you know that they are right, because you already feel the same way, but on the other hand, you don't want them pointing it out! Keep in mind that it is not a reflection on his love for you.

Perhaps he knows that you have been feeling self-conscious so he is simply giving you a suggestion of a way you might be able to make yourself feel better.

Hard to do, I know, but since he is not making nasty remarks, try not to think of it as a slight on his part. Think of it as a means to be helpful and supportive in your efforts to be happy with yourself.

You might even suggest he do some working out with you! Makes it much easier to stick with and it's more fun too... :)
