I was terminated last year due to pending charges for aggravated assault with deadly weapon. I have not convicted yet or gone to trial. When that happened I called my branch manager and let him know what happened and he told me that I need to deal with the HR. I applied with different company with in the union and seems like no one wants to hire me after they knew about my arrest. I did not hide or lied about it. I was honest hard worker employee and dedicated years with my ex company. Recently, my ex company appealed my unemployment and lied that I resigned. I was hurt because how can I resign my job that feeds my family. And in recording the HR said the reason why they terminate me is that they can have a " CONVICTED FELONY WORKING FOR THEM". I was not a convicted felony and they have no proof that I was ever. This is the reason why no one wants to hire me because my ex company already label me as a CONVICTED FELONY and spread inaccurate information about my arrest. Can I do something about it?

Who did they say this too? You can try to sue them but it will take time, what are the chances you might be convicted between now and when your suit reaches court in a year or two?

Can I do something about it?Hello c:

There is another level of appeal for your unemployment. They won the first round.. Take it to them during the second.
