All I know is I have a half sister... by my birth father... she is between my age and my only known younger sister... me and my sister are 1 year and 10 months apart.. our half sister is between our ages and born in in the same county as far as I have been told.. I was told we probably went to school together.. her mom worked in a mill where my dad worked.. they had an affair... he gave up his rights so it would not disrupt the marriage of the woman.. where do I begin to find her.. I have no money...

I'm asking because we cannot help search for minors :)

I'm doubting your father gave up parental rights at the time--in the 60s, the woman's husband would have been determined to be the legal father regardless.

Your half sister may not even KNOW she is biologically not related to her father--are you willing to disrupt her life so that you can satisfy your curiosity?

If she DOES know she is biologically not related to the father that raised her, then she may also be searching. Your best bet is reunion websites such as adoption.org, adoption.com and ISRR.

No I do not want to disrupt her life.. I just want to know who she is.. I would have to know more about her to contact her.. I think about her everyday... just want to know if she is OK or needs us

From my understanding.. the adopted father was not able to birth children.. and she was their miracle child.. not sure if any of this is true

The only ways to find out who she is are to ask your father for her identity or to register on reunion websites and hope she is also looking.

Adoption records from that time were nearly always closed... but the biggest issue is that she probably was not formally adopted. Because she was born within a marriage, it would have been ASSUMED by law that the father who raised her was her biological and legal father, which would mean that there WAS no adoption. She would not have been adopted because she already had a legal father, even though he was not a biological father.
