My partner and I had an accident during intercourse and now require the morning after pill but live in a country where it is forbidden to sell! The pharmacist suggested taking Yasmin contraceptive pills in doses of 3 tablets per day over 3 days and then proceeding with normal intake.
Is this as suitable as the morning after pill or am I better getting on a plane and buying the actual pill somewhere it is sold?
Also can IUCD insertion work as an alternative?

Some birth control pills can be used as emergency pills. It would be wise to check with her doctor to be sure the dosage that was suggested is OK for her to use.
The IUCD will not likely work as you may think. Between the two, the pills would be the better option for greater chance of preventing a possible pregnancy. Again, a quick call to her doctor will let her know whether this is a good option for her.
Another consideration is where she is in her cycle. If she recently completed a period, she may be at a greater chance for pregnancy to occur. If she is soon to have a period, she would generally be at a much lower chance.

Actually the IUD is the best and most effective option for emergency contraception. If you are going to take regular birth control pills, please check this website www.not-2-late.com for the right brand and number of pills.
Good luck!
