I need some advice. My husbands parents are nice people and want to help baby sit and spend time with our new infant, but with summer coming up they want to take their new camper to the lake.
I have no issue with them camping, the problem is that they make plans less than a week in advance and I have to know 3 weeks in advance for my work schedule. Their solution is for me to bring the baby to the lake but that would be a 3 hour trip before and after work.
Is there anyway I can spare their feelings about me changing my work schedule so I won't have to depend on them to watch the baby?

Just explain to them. Tell them you love to have them watch the baby, but your work schedule is not as flexible as their schedule. You need more lead time to work this out.

You make your own plans that work for you, and tell them to have a geat time, see you when you get back. I think they are really trying to tell you that nicely, they will see ya when they get back.
