I have a quite steep lawn and for the last 5 years have quite happily used my LTR180 to cut the 2 acres. At the end of last season the mower began losing traction, esp after an hour or so's use. I have changed the traction belt and ensured that the tension is adjusted so that the gap on the compression spring is 34mm. Its still losing traction though. The sheeves and pullies all look OK. Not sure what to try next. Any ideas please?

Hi,
The unfortunate thing is that you describe a failing transaxle.
Peace,

Had the same experience and agree with Clarke. Your options are to get your dealer to change the transaxel (****$) obtain are replacement axel (about $650) or get the rebuild kit from Tuftorq for $350. The choise is yours...
