How can I tell if the floor under the middle bedroom door has a water pipe leak. The mobile home we rent is 35 years old,and the landlord can't get a plumber out here to check it out for some reason,he says.
In the mean time we have to lay down those ShamWow mats to absorb the moisture. I am 70 and can't do much about it. I'm afraid it's going to be a major pipe replacement job since those pipes are old galvanized types, anyone else have this problem?. jim de in pa.

Only way to find the leak (and there is one if your floor is wet all the time in the same area) is to cut open the floor, or go under the trailer and open up the belly. Sooner or later you will fall through the floor in this area, trust me. You landlord needs to get it together, and I mean right now. Not only is this a safetly issue, but a health issue (mold, etc). Im not all that surprised he can't get a plumber in to fix it, as nobody wants to crawl under a trailer, not even plumbers, but that is part of our job, and it needs to be taken care of. Don't let this slide, friend. Keep on the landlord, and if necesarry, take legal action. One more thing. A repipe of most trialers isn't nearly as bad as one might think. Just a matter of running pex pipeing exposed along walls or ceilings. They can be boxed in, or just left in plain sight. Beats having no water, or water damage, right? I do a few of these every year. Heck, Ive already done three this year, with three more lined up in the next month. Nice thing about this particular trailer park, is the owner is also a construction contractor and always goes in and boxes in all the piping, so you would never even know I was there.

Also if this is the water line, not the sewer line, you could end up with a several hundred dollar water bill if you pay for your own water.
This can cause the floor to rot and I have seen people even fall though ( foot fall) into the floor in older
There is other health issues of mold and the cush
