How can I tell which condnser is mine? I have a condo where about 20 condensers are put in the same outdoor area. My HVAC repair guy can't tell which one belongs to my unit (he says they are not labeled - and I checked with COA mgt.. they don't know which is mine). Should the HVAC repair person really be able to figure out which one is mine? What should he do to resolve the problem of finding mine so I can get some AC?

If nothing is marked you go into test mode and it takes two people. One at the A/C unit and one at the Thermostat each with a cell phone. Turn the system on and let it run watch all systems and turn yours off, The out side system should shut off immediately, If three shut down at the same time restart the process. Moste system will have a 5min. Time guard on cycling equipment. Its your responsibility to show the service tech what to work on unless you want to pay for locating equipment and in turn it can add up to some costly detective work.

Great advice t-top. Yep, definatley a two man job. But with two men, should be able to trace it out in short order. There are even lots of ways to do this with just one guy, but very time consuming.
