I like to paint some stripes on my truck... I know to clean and sand... ect... when I do the sanding... do I have to take off all the clear coat from the oringal color... or just a good wet sand to make sure its clean... thanks... richard

What type of stripes are you thinking about? Pinstripes or the wide style that are usually a few inches wide?

Progressive blocks down the sides n around the hood across the hood about 8 in wide from side to side solid across... dowm the side... blocks... about 4 in wide.. ship 4 in... ect

With big blocks like that I would sand down the clearcoat and polish the undercoat before painting. Then paint and after that is dry clearcoat again in gloss.

OK tks... you like enamal or laquar... spray cans ?
Spray cans... I may not need a clear coat? Thanks... richard
