Hi,
Recently my grandma passed away. She had a will and she appointed an executor to carry out her last wishes. Due to family conflict the executor has decided to step back and allow an attorney to carry out the will. Now I know that all of the bank accounts have beneficiary desingation however the will states that the money is to be divided between the children. If the attorney opens an estate account what will happen? Does the bank still pay the funds to the beneficiaries or is the attorney able to take all of the money open the estate account and disburse to the children whether or not they are the beneficiaries on file with the bank?
