I had been with boyfriend for 12 years and I'm only 25 (yep since we were 13). We just got our first house, and 6 months in, I find out he has been seeing someone else for 3 months (someone I know too).

I have left him and told him I could never trust him again. I know I need to be on my own, and am keeping myself busy. Any tips for making this period any easier.

I am so sorry that you are going through this. I wish there was a quick fix, but you already know that there isn't. Time... that is what it will take.

As you said, do your best to keep busy. Surround yourself with family and friends... do things for yourself that you enjoy. Take the time to treat yourself especially well. Try something new... get a friend to join you.

Expect to have some bad days, but they will become fewer and fewer as time goes on.

Keep in mind that this is a flaw in his character and has nothing to do with you. In time, you might actually feel sorry for him.
