Hi,

I am currently 17 years old and have been suffering with lower back pain for about 4 years now, I recently had an MRI scan which showed I have mutiple problems, I have 2 buldging disks, one intruding disc and a protruding disk, significant cental disk extrusion into the central canal, along with stenosis/canal stenosis in many places, and server disk disease for my age. My MRI also states I have sereve narrowing of the left lateral reces with impingement of the transiting left S1 nerve root. There are a few more problems too, I just basically wanted to know what are the treaments for these problems, and are they bad?

Thank you.

Didn't you ask your doctor about a treatment plan? I'm guessing physical therapy of various kinds, acupressure or chiropractic would be a choice you could make, an exercise program such as yoga or tai chi, maybe muscle relaxants or even pain pills. Traditional medicine would handle your situation differently than alternative medicine would.

Hi,

Well my doctor has referred me to a neuro surgon, I'm due to see a consultant to discuss surgery next month, but I just wanted to get some knowledge about my problems, I do have regular medication I am taking for my back at the moment, but nothing seems to help and I have had physical therapy for my back before I had my MRI scan.
