Today a dog came into my school. My friend and I cared for it until the rangers came to pick it up. I really need to know 'How long is it until an animal gets put down if it goes into the Kalgoorlie Pound?' Because a few days before... It will get put down, I want to go to the pound. If its still there I'm going to adopt it! It was so cute and I can't let a dog that I saved get put down! So please, tell me how long a dog has to be in a pound before it gets put down? (remember its going to the Kalgoorlie WA Pund)

You will need to call the pound for that information.

All they say is the MIN time they will keep, which is 96 hours, they did not say the max time they will keep a dog.

Strays typically are kept in the back for a hold for a week or so until they are put out in the floor.

It all depends on how many dogs are being surrendered or found. If the shelter is empty, the dog will stay on the floor for a long time. If they are very full with no adoptions, I have know some shelters give dogs and cats up to 48 hours to be adopted.

If you're interested you need to say so. Not just wait until the dogs last day.
