We are harassed by several in our neighborhood but three live across street .one of the tenants are the landlords family harassing us several times a day with vulgar rap music at concert level . Landlord is aware of complaints via police as he will not identfy himself to me when I called to complain. We had same trouble with the last tenants he had at the home. Police have issued an abatement letter to two neighbors. They have not stopped ,in fact, its worse! We've called CPS because of dope smoking with children around. These family members have networked with others to harrass us in the same manner so we do not get a break unless its pouring rain. I have several camara tapes of them harassing us and the police have witnessed the noise but disallowed me to sign a citizens arrest. Everyone else around us will not get involved because they don't want to get harassed! I can't sell or rent my own home and move! I feel this landlord has moved these people purposely. What is left to do that we haven't done?

CPS, like Chicago Police? Call your Alderman.

Go talk to the DA and find out procedure to press charges, In GA for example, you can file in court and have them bought in for you to produce evidence.

If they are breaking the law, loud music, tresspass, call the police, call supervisor in they don't enforce.

I suspect "CPS" means "Child Protective Services".

Thank you for your response to landlords family harassing homeowner with his blessings! I am into 10yrs with one and 5yrs with the other and both are trying to get us to move.We have also contacted the city attorney, our district councelman, second 8 housing and yes , child protective services.Though the last disruptive neighbors this landlord had were with section 8(they helped us),we've been told these new renters are not on this assistance. My understanding is the abatement letters sent to two of the disrupters was the first step. We have now been told to pursue a restraining order. This step is difficult and judges do not like to issue these. It's a penal code 415 and very difficult to prove yet we have no real quality of life that supposedly is our civil right! I was told by a sgt with the police dept to continue to call non emergency and generate a call number, document incident, continue camara taping and write a report online .At some point, present this to the judge ,then landlord fined. Crazy!

AK could be right but we may never know since it has gone unanswered. AK kakes more sense, Child Protective Services.
