I have been served with a Supplemental Petition for modification of final judgement on a child support case and needed to know what documents I need to file with the court as a response. First garnishments are fairly standard and it is almost impossible to get that not allowed. Since you are ordered to pay, what defense would you have, I just want to write the check ?

On the amount, have you checked it against the rules and charts for your state ? If that amount is right, according to your actual earnings, then it is right, If it is wrong, you answer the motion with a print out of your states child support guidelines showing that the amount stated is correct. If your earnings have changed over the years, it is common to ask for more.
