I have a 1999 civic.while driving to work my cars motor off but all the lights stayed on.I tried downshifting to bring the rpm's up hoping this would help.it didn't. I sat in it for 10-15 min and tried starting it. It started right up. I then drove home and it died again but turned back on while driving. What could this be.

Replacing the Ignition Control Module (ICM) and coil, located inside the distributor, usually solves the problem. Be sure to apply silicone heat transfer grease to the back of the new ICM; otherwise, it won't last long.
