A guy broke the pipe to an outdoor faucet so I went to the well and - not knowing which valve to turn - turned off the inlet valve (from underground). Then I turned off the line to my house. Realizing I might be burning up the motor, I then ran back and turned the power off to the well. I need to turn everything back on and need to know the sequence and if I may have caused any damage in this matter. And the line needed to be bled as the water pressure oscillates between full and less than full.

Turn all valves on.
Make sure the pump is primed. To do that, remove the plug at the top of the impeller cage and pour in water until it overflows. Replace plug. (This is assuming pump is above ground.)
Turn on power. Should start building pressure within several seconds.

If I turn the inlet valve "ON" - won't that fill the tank? Hey if I knew what I was doing, I wouldn't be here.
