Hi,

I have a LCD HD TV and am in the process of hooking it up to a Coolsat receiver and would ideally like to have DVR/PVR capability too. So can anyone let me know the choices of equipment that I need to buy that work with this setup?

The coolsat is a coolsat 5000 but I might upgrade it to a 8000. The TV has quite a few HDMI and S-video inputs to hook up.

Thanks for looking!

You'll need a DVR/PVR that accepts component video input for best picture quality from the Coolsat. A PC makes for a great PVR coupled with, for example, this adapter (http://reviews.cnet.com/Matrox_RT_X2_video_input_adapter_PCI_Express_x1/4507-9332_7-31930902.html?tag=nav) from Matrox, (although a little expensive though.) :)

Otherwise, some models to research are ReplayTV and TiVo which are hard disk based DVRs.
