I have a dotsin puppy that is eight weeks old. He was just wormed Last Saturday and seemed to be doing fine. Today he has been throwing up and has had diarreah. He doesn't seem to be hiself, not playful and such. And it looks as if he is losing wieght some. I can't afford a vet visit right now but I don't want to loose my puppy. What do I do?

Your dachshund puppy may have parvo, a usually deadly disease. A vet will be able to diagnosis him and treat him.

Our dog experts are here off and on through the next 24 hours, so someone who really knows about dogs will give you more feedback. And, by the way, when you take on the care of an animal, you have to plan on vet visits for shots, neutering, and illness. This is an illness, so time for a vet visit.

Afford it or not you may have little choice.
Puppies can go downhill pretty quickly when they fall ill. And your puppy is small without much reserve.
It could be a number of things including the parvo that has already been mentioned.
At her age even with vaccination, at this point only one would have been given.
She is still susceptible to the disease.
My suggestion is to call a vet and tell them the problem and ask for options re: treatment, payment plans, agencies that offer help in these situations, etc.
Friends and family may be able to chip in.
Bottom line is her best chance is a visit to the vet.
