Hi need help…
I am trying to install a transmitter/receiver to remote control my light/ceiling fan, and it's not working. I bought the universal remote control kit from Amazon. I hooked up per the diagram and the guidelines.
Black(yellow in my case) from the house --->black on one side of the receiver.
White from the house ---> white on one side of the receiver.
White from other side of the receiver ---> white from the fan ( common)
Black from other side of the receiver---> black from the fan (this is for fan control)
Blue from other side of the receiver---> blue from the fan ( I guess this is for light control)
I am not sure what mistake I am making. I double checked the receiver/transmitter code match. I checked the batteries they are working. What else am I missing?
My fan is Emerson model F2300 and this is not a solid state fan. I am not sure if it’s the receiver that is bad or if it has any lock that needs to be removed before installing?
Any ideas?

Where do you live? Are you saying your hot incoming wire from the house is yellow? How many volts do you read from the yellow and white?

I am locate in northwest suburbs of Chicago. I am not sure how many volts does the yellow read I don't have a volt meter to read it. I am doing this for the first time.
There are 4 wires coming from the house
2- white
1 green
1 yellow
When we opened the canopy this is how things are initially connected..

2 whites connect to fan white
1 green connected to fan ( ground)
1 yellow connected to black and blue of the fan

The 2 whites my guess is one goes to a serial lights located near the attic which is used as bed lamp.

OK you need something to test for power. A simple light tester would do that but for about $5 more you can get a voltage tester. We need to tak about the connections at the receiver in different terms so we understand each other. The wires coming from the ceiling to the receiver are the FEED/INCOMING side. Wires from the receiver to the fan are the OUTGOING side. Tell me the colors of the wires coming out of the OUTGOING side of your receiver please.

OK the color of the wires on OUTGOING side of my receiver are :

BLACK - connected to BLACK FROM FAN
BLUE - connected to BLUE FROM FAN
WHITE - connected to WHITE FROM FAN

On INCOMING/FEED SIDE of receiver

WHITE - connected to WHITE from the ceiling
BLACK - connected to YELLOW from ceiling

Hope I am clear this time.

Yes, perfectly clear. Can you confirm power between the incoming black and white? This will tell us if power reaches the receiver. Once confirmed turn on fan and or light. You should see power between black and white which feeds the fan. You should also see power between blue and white which feed the light.
