I have a 1988 crx si with a b18a1 swap. My question, I'm throwing a cel 6 for a engine temp sensor failure or wire problem so I replaced the sensor and tried to reset the sensor and as soon as I go to start it the cel sets off the same code so something is wrong with the two wires on the sensor. My car will start after a minute of turning it over and once it starts I have to rev it to 4000 grand to keep it running until it warms up a little then it runs like a champ. But since the ecu is sensing that the temp sensor isn't working I'm thinking it can't give it the correct fuel adjustment for a cold start. And that's when it doesn't want to start when its colder than 45-50 degrees. If you have any help I would be so happy cause I'm out of ideas at the moment.

Check the connectivity from the ECT Sensor to the proper pins on the ECM with a multimeter. Corrosion may be a factor on the ECT Sensor connector or the ECM connector. After disconnecting the negative battery cable and grounding yourself, remove the ECM connectors and check things out. Afterwards, spray the connectors with WD-40. Ensure you have the proper ECM for the engine.

Sorry it took so long to get back. Everything is connected at the ecm. The sensor itself seems to be bad. It reads 0 ohms when it should be between 250 and 10,000. I have ordered a new one.
