Within the last 5 years I bought and read a book about a real English Lady in the early 1800's who, for the sake of her health and needing a drier climate sailed to Europe with her maid and journeyed up the Nile river to live in a villa overlooking the Nile . She kept a dairy of her life and the book reflected on the social customs of English aristocracy as she made a new life in Egypt . She left her husband and children in England and corresponded by letter. The book is based on these letters . I would like to know the author or the title , hope someone has read this too. Thanks Museo
