Yes. The bank wouldn't let them have the money unless they have a court order, or a preauthorization from you . The bank will let you see it. Just ask. I'd make a copy.

It's probably a collection agency. Go SEE the court order, like I suggested.. It will have their name, address and phone number on it.

First its not a good idea to piggyback your question on another thread. To avoid confusion your question has been moved to its own thread.

Have you gone to the bank branch? Before a bank can remove any money from your account, they need authorization. This authorization can be an approval from you or it can be an order from a court.

Therefore, the bank has to be able to show you a copy of that authorization. I would be in the branch first thing tomorrow (assuming its closed now) demanding to see a copy of the authorization or have the money restored.

I understand that you DON'T have what you need. That's why I told you to go to the bank to get it.

You haven't said that you don't owe any money... You MUST know that you have accounts in arrears. You MUST know that they're going to DO something about it... If your address hasn't changed, you MUST have known about the lawsuit...

So, unless this is an absolute MISTAKE, and it COULD be, then none of this should come as a surprise to you.

That it's a small amount and a one time withdrawal says it was either a mistake or a purchase you made. I did Google Coleshill and found several reference but none that might represent a place where you made a purchase.

Nobody would have a judgment for $15 (pounds). A court order would take ALL the money. It now sounds to me like some sort of pre-authorization. These are VERY easy to fall prey too these days... I'm a pretty sharp guy, and I got caught up in one recently... I went on a website for some technical help... They charged something like $4.80 to get a question answered... I bought.

But, I did NOT buy a monthly $15 contract for free advice anytime I wanted, and THAT'S exactly what they said I did. Yes, I got out of it.

Many of these scams are small so they HOPE you'll let it go. Lots of people do, and they get rich.
