Hi there! Just a few questions that I hope someone more knowledgeable can answer for me! I have been in a relationship with my partner for 1 and a half years and would now like to marry. He has moved back to his home country of Mauritius and we are planning to have the marriage there. I have 2 children from a previous relationship and we have 1 child together that currently all reside with me in the UK.

I am on full benefits as I am a single mother right now living in private rented accommodation but obviously getting housing benefit for this. This is a 2 bedroom house. I am slo receiving other benefits as I am unable to work due to the ages of my children.

When applying for the spouse visa I understand that I am meant to be working and have to have a certain amount of money leftover each week in order to show that I can support my spouse. As I am on benefits can anyone shed some light as to how this may work? And also, will any money or savings my partner has make any difference? He has a large amount of savings so will this be OK? Or does the rule still apply that I have to be the one making the money?

Also, does anyone know how it works for the accommodation side of things? I have 3 boys and a 2 bedroom house. 2 boys sleep together in 1 room and the baby sleeps in my room.

Thanks in advance for any useful responses! :)
