Blood pattern analysis.

I have been given photos of a crime scene, there are about 6 medium sized blood drops on the wall they all show a directionality towards the floor... it was a chest stabbing... how could have this occurred? Surely any cast off would be in the opposite direction.

Many thanks

How high on the wall, what was the height of the victim.
What was the alleged distance from the victim to the wall ( or is this one of the things to solve also)
Was the knife still in the victim when found or was the knife pulled out of victim.

Stabbings give rise to relatively low-velocity spray. That spray may have initially been directed upwards or laterally, but its parabolic path could easily have arced downwards by the time it contacted the wall.

The height of the victim 185cm, wall about 240cm, the blood spatter is about the height of where the light switch is.. im not sure how far that is up the wall... the knife was found next to the victim.
Thanks
