I have a few inches of water damage on the exterior front of my double wide. I put some building material up against the house for a long period. The grade of the ground is fine. I need to repair it because I want to start the landscaping. I don't want to replace the entire wall. I thought about cutting he wall horizontally but how or what do I replace it with? Replaceing it with the same material, I believe, would make it look like a patch job. I want it to look nice. Any suggestions?

If it is wood siding, replace with Hardi plank of the same profile. Never rots. Remove old nails and old siding should drop down. Slide the hardier into place and nail with galvanised siding nails.

Should I be replacing the entire front of the house or just the damaged area? Is the "Hardi plank" the something as cement board? I've tried to attach a picture, hopefully its viewable. I thought since there was only a few inches of damage, I could cut the siding horizontally 18 or 24 inches and repair from that point. Does that sound logical?

I thought you had horizontal strip siding. You can buy Hardie that looks just like yours. Yes, it is cement siding, You need To have more clearance between the siding and the ground. I would replace all the siding.
